2008 Missions Banquet

God is transforming many of our churches into agents of missionary service around the world. In recent years, our International Mission Board changed their strategy to focus our carreer missionaries on the remaining unreached peoples around the globe. For this reason, IMB is urging our local churches and associations to join them in finishing the task of reaching our world for Christ by partnering with local churches in other nations where there is much need.

Come and hear from mission volunteers sent by our churches this past year. Be inspired by what God is doing around the world. Learn how your church can be a part of this global outreach. Last year's mission banquet was rated the finest event in the history of our association.

The Church @ Parkview will be hosting the 2008 Mission Banquet with a delicious menu in their beautiful sanctuary. There are only 80 seats available at this event. Reservations are already mounting up. We are asking pastors to invite leaders with a heart for missions. Each church is alloted a maximun of 6 in attendance.

While there is no cost for those attending the banquet, reservations are required. Simply email the total reservations from your church to our GCBA missions office at goldcoastba@sbcglobal.net. Deadline for reservations is Friday, February 15.

Pastors/Wives Retreat
Sandcastle Beach House

We would like to honor our pastors and pastor's wives for a time of refreshment, inspiration and fellowship. The Sandcastle Beach House is located directly on the beach at PCH, north of the city of Ventura . The 180 degree view from the beach house is breathtaking and provides an beautiful setting to unwind and renew your friendship with God and one another. The retreat begins at 6:00 pm Monday with dinner and concludes 3:00 pm on Tuesday. Since there are only ten rooms, some with King beds, some with queens and a few with doubles, you will want to reserve early. To reserve your room, please send a check for $60.00 made out to: Gold Coast Baptist Association, P.O. Box 1800, Simi Valley, CA 93065. The best rooms will be given to the earliest reservations. The cost includes dinner, breakfast, lunch. and your room. Each couple is responsible for bringing their own bed linens and towels.

You will not want to miss this special tiime with other pastors and wives. Encourage your church to pray for you during these two days.

Pray for New Church in Newbury Park

There is nothing more exciting in a home than the birth of a new baby. In the same way, there is a smile on the face of Jesus whenever a new church is born. Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008, is the opening day for our newest arrival, Conejo Church in Newbury Park.

Pastor Rex and Sherry Holt arrived this past summer to begin a new church in East Ventura County. There is now the beginings of a launch team that God is assembling to work alongside Rex in starting this new church. Please pray that Christ may be lifted up over the Conejo Valley and draw many who do not know Jesus to come on Easter moring and discover Him as Lord.

Jesus said, "I will build My church." Pray that Jesus may build Conejo Church with a heart of worship and a heart for reaching the multitudes with the gospel of Christ. Pray for God's favor upon pastor Rex and this newly forming congregation. For more information see www.conejochurch.com.
